Soulstice VIII - June 18-20, 2004: Gary was there, as he has been at past Soulstices! If you wanna party with him, then come on out to Soulstice XI in June 2007. Februgary 14th, 2004: Opening reception of the Eyes of the TYGR (Ten Year Gary Retrospective) at Planet Rooth (located at 3811 Ray Street in North Park, San Diego.) This exhibit opened with a gala reception where hundreds joined in celebration of ten years of gary. Mounds of more Gary art was created that night, and some was brought in. Great food, projected visuals, video presentations, music and dancing long into the night - fun was had by all. Some guests came all the way from Pennsylvania and Massachussets for the show. March 6th, 2004: TYGR's closing reception. Not as big and crazy as the opening reception, but still dozens and dozens of people throughout the night, more good music, visuals, food and fun by all. That night, more artists brought in their art and garyphanelia, more art was created at the gallery, and lots of video and stills from the opening reception was on display. Again, lots of fun. For those of you who took pictures or video at either the opening or closing receptions, and for those of you who have created any new gary art or garyphanelia, send it on in! The art that you all created and left behind at the opening was on display in the following weeks at the show. Gary began in San Diego, so San Diego is where the TYGR exhibit occurred. Beyond that, the TYGR exhibit, with additional Garyphanelia from the years following it, is ready, willing and able to move to additional cities for all to enjoy. All that is needed now is funding to pay for the transport and setup of those shows. If you know of any funding to pay for the traveling of the TYGR show, or if you are able to transport or setup the show, say so; otherwise, the show can’t travel. Also, speak up if you know of any other galleries/museums/venues that could do the same, whether in NYC or L.A. or S.F. or in London or Vegas or Florida or Massachusetts or Tokyo or Turkey or Bakersfield or Tijuana or Rio de Janeiro or WHEREVER.
